Bottled Water Coolers

A water cooler is an appliance that can be used in the home or in the office. The unit contains a bottle (usually of five gallon capacity), a cooling unit and a dispensing unit. Bottled water coolers normally come with a five gallon bottle which requires replacement from the vendor either by delivery or by self pickup.


Bottle-less water coolers are connected directly to the main water supply of the building but the bottled water coolers offer many benefits over these coolers.

Firstly, the bottled water cooler can be put anywhere in the building without being dependant on the access to the water mains.

Secondly, the number of units can be increased or decreased without having to make any plumbing alterations and thirdly, the bottled water is guaranteed high quality water because the vendor must comply to strict government regulations when supplying water to consumers.

There are many distributors of bottled water (such as Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Pepsi and so forth) distributing many well known brands that exist in the market. These include Perrier, Evian, Volvic, San Pellegrino, Vittel and many others.

The consumption of bottled water has grown at an astronomic rate and is now even challenging the carbonated drinks market. This is due to the fact that most people are starting to mistrust the local water from the tap and believe that bottled water is the healthier alternative. Additionally, bottled water is a very convenient means to hydrate oneself during the day.

Water coolers are also often seen as a place where people within an organization can get together, gossip and have a break from the working day. Most companies nowadays are providing access to bottled water coolers in break or rest areas for the use of staff members.

There are some detractors of this increase in the consumption of bottled water. Most critics say that the environmental impact is just too high with the increase in carbon emissions as a result of producing the water and of cooling the water is having a detrimental impact on the environment.

However, bottled water consumption is on the rise and, with the huge profits being available to producers, this trend will, in all likelihood, continue.
